Tools and toys for the magickally minded
Custom Orders
Our (unheated) shop is still closed for the winter, but will reopen in time for Beltaine. In the meantime, you can order from existing stock, or place your order now for us to work on as soon as the weather warms up... Gotta love New England!

Our online store has several choices on most items. Still, sometimes you know exactly what you want, but can't seem to find it. Well, the Haunted Wood Custom Shop is ready to help. Let us build the magickal tool of your dreams.

Add an inlaid, woodburned, or painted design to your altar. Have a staff cut to just the perfect height, or a wand custom fit to your hand.

Just send us an email with a description of what you want. We'll get back to you right away with an estimate. We may ask you a few more questions or offer up some suggestions to make sure we get it just right. If need be, we can send you a few proof of concept sketches before you commit. We'll even keep you updated with your own page on our site, detailing the work as it progresses.

We can work with a variety of techniques and materials. Our suppliers can furnish us with nearly any stone from granite to diamond, and exotic woods such as ebony, purpleheart, rosewood, blackwood, or dozens of others are always available. We even have a few friends in the blacksmithing, sewing, and leatherworking trades- so no matter what you dream up, there's a good chance we can make it happen.

Custom Order Policies:

We understand that your order is most likely intended as a magickal tool. Please do not hesitate to ask if there are "special" substances*, techniques, dates, or energies that you feel would be important in the crafting of your item. We are familiar with a number of Pagan / magickal systems, and will accomidate you to the best of our ability.

We are willing to use materials that you send us, such as stones, feathers, or wood.* In these cases, we are not liable for loss or damage to the item/material at any point in the process, including both shipping and storage as well as manufacture.

Custom orders must be paid in full before work begins. For large pieces ($250+) we may, at our discretion, accept a 50% deposit upon order with the balance due between completion and delivery. Unpaid orders will be forfiet 30 days after completion. Our rates are based on cost of materials plus an hourly "shop rate". Some rare or exotic materials may warrant an additional surcharge if acquiring them means we must go to great lengths or are unable to go through our normal suppliers. Bear in mind that the level of complexity will usually affect price far more than the cost of materials. The use of sub-contractors for blacksmithing or leatherwork will also affect prices dramatically.

We accept payments for custom orders via Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, PayPal, check, or money order. Checks will be allowed to clear before work begins on your order.**

We will give you our best estimate on when your order will be shipped, but this is not a guarantee. While we keep a good amount of materials on hand, certain materials such as exotic woods or precious stones may need to be specially ordered for your item- this can delay our work substantially. We will always keep you up to date with everything we know regarding the timing of your order.

We will post regular updates with pictures of the work as it is completed. You are responsable for letting us know of any changes or problems while we can still correct them. As a matter of policy, all sales on custom items are final and both orders and deposits are non-returnable. That said, we are reasonable people- feel free to talk to us if you are unhappy with your order, and we will do everything within reason*** to make it right.

* For the record, we have the right to refuse whatever we deem nesesary. We will not work with illegal or controlled substances under any circumstances- this includes eagle feathers, ivory, and other items regulated by law as well as certain ritual herbs/oils/tinctures such as peyote or others. If it could be considered dangerous or legally questionable, ask us first, and don't be surprised if we say no.

** Chargebacks and returned checks will be subject to exhorbitant processing fees.

*** We reserve the right to decide what may be considered "reasonable", but don't worry, like I said, we're reasonable.
